Choices are always around us. Some are easy and some not so much.
Imagine the most difficult decision you have ever made. Were you filled with shame or doubt that you possibly had made the wrong decision? These choices usually feel difficult and at times painful because we feel alone when you have to make those types of decisions. But the best reminder is to know that we are never alone making decisions. We have those who are close to us, but most importantly God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit to help us with these choices that come up.
Papa God is the one who gave the first option to choose. To give the option to choose shows how God loves our opinion and our input. Think about that, God wants to know what we think but also gives us the opportunity to act on it. God celebrates every choice that you have made. Even the tough and overbearing choices have God’s hands all over them. The nitty-gritty life decisions that scare us half to death- God hands them to us. Simply because He trusts us to make the right choice and even when we don’t, he isn’t phased, there is nothing we can do or choose that can destroy God’s ultimate amazing plan!
When you discover that you are free to make decisions with God and by yourself- your life looks like a road with endless opportunities. God is interested in what you are interested in. When your identity is fully encapsulated with God, Jesus and Holy Spirit- you cannot make wrong decisions. Even if they seem wrong in the natural, go for it- you have the mind of Christ. You know who you are! A son or daughter doesn’t make decisions that separate them from their father. Even if their decision wasn’t what their father originally intended!
A good father is one who celebrates a child stepping into adulthood. A good father reaches out their hand and walks beside his children while they make choices. A good father never rubs “bad” decisions in their child’s face. This is our God! Our God is a good father. He walks with us and trusts us enough to make our own decisions without fear of punishment.
There are times when there are consequences for our decisions but whether good or bad they never put any distance between the father and you. He just comes along side and says, “lets try again, what will you choose this time?”
